What a BULPREN is ?
- New filtration material BULPREN is made of a filter foam with open chambers and relatively very large slit foam, despite this, n-stratified construction gives very results in stopping the smallest particle sizes. In addition, the foam effectively captures the oil / paraffin wax.
Filtration through this type of foam is based on a different method than filtration through paper filter cartridge. Bulpren cartridge is working as a centrifugal filter.

2 ) What a filter and filtration is ?
- Filter It is a device for separating solids and liquids from gases, by using one or more baffles of porous or absorbtion.
- Filtration: A method of separating solids and liquids from gases by mechanical retention of one of the substances or absorbtion. Gas released in filtering process of the particle is called filtrate.
3 ) What filter to choose - What are the differences between the filter's materials ?
Filters manufactured by CERTOOLS Sp. J. are differ in the way of performance, purpose or filtration and efficiency, all of these factors are determined by filter cartridge which is not visible element inside the filter. Filter cartridges are made of natural material - paper or synthetic - polyester or glass fiber ( reinforced in some varieties by metal mesh).
PAPER cartridge as the oldest representative of the filter media has an effective filtration mostly because of greater number of pleats which increases the filtration area. This cartridge is not very resistant to water which limits the scope of its application.
POLYESTER and GLASS FIBER cartridges do not show these defects, moreover, reinforced by steel mesh show a high resistance to pleats deformation .
These cartridges have a uniform structure and small size of filtration slits, combined with their multi-layered structure (3 layers of polyester and 5 layers of fiber glass ) makes them very effective in capturing very small size of particles. Manufacturers of autogas systems such as BRC, Lovato, KME introduce the glass fiber in their systems as the best protecting material for injectors.
POLYESTER: mesh - polyester - mesh GLASS FIBER: mesh - polyester - glass fibre - polyester - mesh
The youngest child among the filter cartridges made of BULPREN foam, combining the advantages of all previously mentioned cartridges and not showing their flaws. Effective capturing of the oil / paraffin wax - recommended Bulpren as the most efficient filtration material.
4 ) Which technical parameters you should take into account while choosing the filter?
Standard filter material used in the filters are subject to the below rules:
•the greater area, thickness and permeability of the filter material, the greater its absorptivity
•the more dense the material, the greater its efficiency
•the lower the resistances, the greater the permeability
•small density results in high capacity and vice versa
•the higher the efficiency the smaller the capacity
Theoretically the ideal filter medium is one characterized by 100% efficiency in removing any kind of contamination, and at the same time having infinite absorptivity and durability. It is impossible to achieve, however the solutions that would meet those requirements are sought.
Designing filters and filter cartridges, we are trying to ensure maximum efficiency and the highest possible capacity of the filter, while maintaining high air permeability and low flow resistance.
5) What the words efficiency, permeability, air permeability and flow resistance do mean?
•Efficiency - Efficiency of purifying is an ability to capture contamination molecules of specified size. It is represented as a ratio of mass of contamination molecules captured by the filter and mass of all the molecules delivered to the filter. Efficiency parameter is expressed in percentage (max. 100%).
•Absorptivity - Absorptivity ( filtration capacity ) is an ability to absorb given amount of contamination, not causing drop of the pressure of operating fluid below the permissible value.
•Air permeability - It is amount of the operating fluid that goes through given area of the filter in the unit of time. That is an ability to pass the operating fluid.
•Flow resistance - Operating fluid going through the filter encounters the resistance from the filter material. This parameter is defined as a difference of pressure before and after the filter.
6 ) What happens if water which exists in autogas freezes inside the filter ?
Water is going with gas together, usually remains inside the fuel tank if silled into filter and freeze after engine had been switched off, automatic system force to start engine by using petrol and convert into gas no earlier than
temperature of engine reach 30 ° C, It ensure problem-free driving. Problem can arise when the weather conditions are not favorable and we want to start the engine by using gas."
